I have learned a lesson thats why I am blogging about it. Do you know this blog is a PR-4 few months back? If not, please see the way back machine to see my PR. Now My PR is zero.

In order to increase by PR by one point, I searched for different techniques to get more links going to this blog. Unfortunately, one blogger ask me to sponsor a upcoming contest in his blog and in return he will ask all the entrants to place the links of all the sponsoring blogs. I accepted this offer without any hesitant and also not known that Google will penalize me for this act.

In the next PR update, I found that all the sponsors of that contest get their PageRank get slashed by Google including my blog. Unfortunately after more than 7 months of blogging, this blog still has it’s PR as Zero. I don’t know how to get rid of the gray color from my PR button.

Lesson learned: Don’t go for p@id links because Google hates that links.
