Knol

KNOL is going to be perfect rival for Wikipedia. Knol is a site which contains A to Z information, which includes “how to” instructions, product information, entertainment, history, geographical, medical information and scientific concepts.

The term Knol, named after a “unit of knowledge”. At present Knol contains only few articles on medical and health field.

No need to start a separate account to write your dream article. Just you can use your Google ID. If you have a G-mail account already, you can start your own Knol. Knol allows internet users to write articles on their own areas of expertise.

Which is your favorite area? You can write articles on your favorite niche and also quote your website or blog in the resource page. This way you can attract more visitors from knol.

Although Google is telling about this site right from December-2007, just now (July-23rd) this site is launched. Do you think this online encyclopaedia will take on Wikipedia?Just peep into Knool and post your comments here…

thanks for this one very informative..
we just have to wait and see if knol can take over Wikipedia.. to think that Wikipedia is one of the most popular..`

  2. Frugal Canadian Living Says:

Having edited articles for Wikipedia in the past and having posted multiple pictures in Wiki Commons I don’t think that Knol will be as popular as Wikipedia.

The concept of Wikipedia is the knowledge should be free for all.

Corporations such as Google have a responsibility to their shareholders to make money. Writting for Knol would be donating my work to Google for free.
