The main reason for the poor turn out and less participation of Indian women in Twitter may be women think 140 characters are less to express their views or they haven’t embraced the technology yet.
Contrary, Harvard Business school inferred in a study that nearly 55 percent of the women population actively participate in the micro-blogging platform- Twitter.
Other interesting facts with regard to women participation in Twitter include-

2. Most of the Indian women are enrolling in any one of the social network and participate daily in that only.
3. Indian women are more interested in blogging than micro-blogging. Moreover, they are 50 % less likely to use social media for marketing and promotions.
4. Indian women are using social networks to contact their friends only. They won’t derive information or get insight about a product or service.
