The few times you work with WordPress may go ok, but after the newness starts to wear off, you may notice that all of your themes are starting to resemble each other. True, the real purpose of WordPress is simply to upload a page in a semi-customized matter, but even the widest array of templates may start to get boring after awhile. This is why it is great that you can alter the properties of WordPress to make truly unique themes that will be signature to your site only. Although even better is the fact that there are tools out there that will help you as a beginner do the same thing without an extensive knowledge of CSS.

One of the best places to start, that will strip the themes down to the bare necessities, is with the tool Starkers WordPress Theme. If you are looking for variations of typical WordPress themes, but with much less clutter, then Starkers will work wonderful for you. It literally takes the WordPress themes and gives you only the elements you need to load your work, so that you can a nice clean crisp ending and presentation for your webpage.

For those who want a little bit of a theme design, but not an overdone design, the perfect medium between normal themes and the naked themes by Starkers, you may choose to use the WordPress Theme Generator. This generator will give you some of the basic design themes adding a little spice to the regular default themes. It is a nice way to make a webpage look decent, but without being overdone or spliced together roughly. After all, sometimes a little too much sparkle is simply too much sparkle.

Taking it a few steps into the more decorated and stylized themes, if you want to completely overhaul a WordPress default theme, you may consider purchasing the Artisteer tool which is available for a developer’s license fee of approximately $100. Although this may seem like a steep price to pay when there are other freeware opportunities, in return you get help with many advanced features and coding that you may not be able to do on your own. There is no end to customization when you take advantage of this tool as you can literally almost completely customize the entire WordPress theme without ever having to learn about .

These are just three of your options for generating new WordPress themes, as there are hundreds more out there for those who are willing to experiment. The nice thing about this set of three, is that you can experiment with varying degrees of WordPress generators before you make your final decision to buy the top level. Also, since you can start playing from the bare minimum, you will also be able to build a more solid background of how you want your WordPress theme designs to progress, meaning that if you do end purchasing Artisteer you will be more equipped and ready to use it then if you start with too much detail at once.
